A name that has come on the top after his heroic performances as he scored an amazing hat-trick. Kiyan Nassiri the son of the legendary footballer Jamshed Nassiri is currently playing for ATK Mohun Bagan. The 21-year-old came on as a substitute in the 61st minute of the match and swept everyone off their feet by scoring 3 past SC East Bengal all by himself.

Just like the Indian hero Baichung Bhutia, who made his mark after scoring a brilliant Hat-trick in the Kolkata Derby in 1994 as East Bengal won 4-1 against Mohun Bagan. Similarly, Kiyan Nassiri has also engraved his name on the list of iconic moments.

Kiyan Nassiri: The son of East Bengal legend Jamshid Nassiri

The new icon of Mohun Bagan was born on November 17th, 2000, in Kolkata. His father by nationality was Iranian and his mother Suzanne hails from Kolkata. His father Jamshid Nassiri professionally played for East Bengal in Kolkata.

Jamshid Nassiri, along with another popular name Majid Bishkar, came to India in 1979 to continue his studies at Aligarh Muslim University. During their University matches, Jamshed, along with Bishkar, came into the sights of East Bengal recruiters and two friends joined the Torchbearers

Nassiri went on to become the second-highest foreign goalscorer in the club's history after Chima Okorie, with 75 goals to his name. Apart from East Bengal, he also represented Mohammedan SC. However, after his retirement, he went into coaching and managed Mumbai-based Bengal Mumbai FC for three years between 1998-2001. For a short period of time, he served as the Mohammedan Sporting head coach.

The Journey of Kiyan Nassiri from the academy to the senior team

Nassiri first made his appearance in a Bengal U13 match in 2014 under Shyam Mukherjee in Kalyani Stadium. There he caught the sight of the Mohun Bagan academy recruiters.

He played there for 2 years before playing his youth career with Mohammedan SC. He then joined back the U19 team of Mohun Bagan for more development.

Kiyan was promoted to the senior team during the 2019-20 season; Where he impressed Kibu Vicuna with his flair and skills during a junior tournament. 

Professional Debut:

He made his first professional debut for Mohun Bagan against TRAU on March 1, 2020, which they won 3-1. Mohun Bagan in the same year won the I-League title and following a merger with ATK, Kiyan was one of the 3 youngsters that they kept hold of. His first appearances for the rebrand ATK Mohun Bagan during their 6-0 loss against FC Nasaf.

Never got the proper footage to see his father's heroic goals

Kiyan expresses his feelings regarding the unavailable footage of his father's playing days and said he frames those moments in his memories.

"I have not got a chance to get hold of any footage. I have heard stories from various people and my father's friends about the games back then so it makes me wonder how games were back then," he said during the interview.

A step forward to represent the Indian National Team?

Kiyan's significant developments are being well noticed and monitored and his father is already dreaming to see his son playing for the Blue Tigers.

After the Derby, in an interview with Anandabazar, Jamshid Nassiri said: "I am very happy. He changed the color of the game. I am proud,"

"I want him to play for India one day. Let him play for the team and get success first."
