Colombia makes it to the semi-finals for the first time in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup by virtue of a thrashing win over the first-timer Tanzania. An early goal from captain Linda gave Colombia the lead in a rainy Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. Later in the 17th minute, Yesica increased the lead to 2-0 from the box. Things got worse for Tanzania as their forward Zainabu Ally received the first red card of the match. Post that, Tanzania could not build any resistance against the Colombian attack comprising Yescia, Gabriela and Orianna. Gabriela scored the third goal of the match and it was already looked all over for Tanzania in the third quarter-final of the world cup. In the second half, Colombia created a lot of chances but failed to score any goals. Colombia will now face Nigeria in the first semi-final on 26th October. Meantime, Tanzania can be proud of its journey as they made it to the quarter-finals of the U-17 Women's World Cup on the first go.
