In Football Transfer News we talk about Bayern Munich, who is close to signing Kim Min-jae, who was heavily linked with Manchester United and Tottenham's new signing Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.
Kim Min-jae to Bayern Munich
Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich are close to agreeing personal terms with the Napoli defender in Football Transfer News, and will activate his release clause of £42m when it kicks in at the start of July.
United will have to turn their focus elsewhere as they look to strengthen at the back. He was heavily linked with Manchester United but they took too much time over the negotiations.
The South Korea international will be the first big "non-free transfer" for Bayern Munich during this window. At 26-years-old, Kim will provide some much needed depth now that Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard are expected to leave the club.
While Matthijs de Ligt has been lauded for his play during the 2022/23 season, Dayot Upamecano has taken some heat for his second half performances. Kim could become an integral figure for Bayern Munich if Upamecano's comfort level with Thomas Tuchel does not get to where the coach needs it to be.
In addition to Kim, Bayern Munich is also reportedly looking at Villarreal's Pau Torres as well to help fill the void of having no left-footed center-back in the squad.
Kulusevski to Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus as per multiple reports in Football Transfer News. The Swedish winger initially joined Spurs on an 18 month loan with an option to buy from €35m in January 2022.
He has scored 7 goals in 57 matches on loan for Spurs, helping them qualify for the Champions League in 2021-22. In his first full season he hasn't been that impressive but Spurs have still shown their confidence on the player by giving him a 5 year contract which the player gracefully accepted.
Stats before joining Spurs
The Tottenham winger has scored twice in 29 games for Sweden and in December 2022 he was awarded the Guldbollen, for the best Swedish male player of the year.
Kulusevski left Sweden at 16 to join Atalanta and spent the 2019-20 season on loan with Parma, initially from Atalanta and then from Juventus after they bought him for £30m in January 2020, plus a potential £8.5m in add-ons.
He scored on his Juve debut in September 2020 and went on to claim nine goals in 74 games before joining Spurs on loan.
