Juventus has had a perfect start in the UCL 2024-25 by winning back-to-back games on both match-days. The Turin-based side defeated PSV Eindhoven by 3-1 and managed a thrilling 3-2 victory against RB Leipzig in the second match-week.

Juventus also showcased a brilliant defensive display in the Serie A this season, conceding only one goal in 8 league games. Their latest win came last week as they defeated Lazio by 1-0 in the Serie A.

Coach Thiago Motta will have to exclude the goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio who was shown red in Juve's encounter against Leipzig in the last match-week. Also, defender Bremer suffered an ACL injury and he is likely to miss out for the whole season. Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez both have injuries, and Arkadiusz Milik is recovering from a long-term knee injury.

VfB Stuttgart is also facing several injury concerns as well. Head coach Sebastian Hoeneß will have to field his eleven without the services of a handful of players such as Chris Fuhrich, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Luca Raimond, Leonidas Stergiou, and Nikolas Nartey; all are going to be sidelined in this important battle against the Italian side.

Enzo Millot, Jamie Leweling, and Deniz Undav are going to be instrumental for the German side against the well-structured defence of Juventus. Stuttgart is 25th in the league table right now and all they will try is to improve their position in the league table.

How do teams qualify for the Champions League from a league?

Till the 2022-23 season, every top-four team from the European Leagues used to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Along with the top four teams, the Europa League winners also qualified for the Champions League next season. 

But, from the 2024 season, along with the top four teams and Europa League/Conference League winners, leagues started getting an additional European Performance Spot. EPS is awarded to the league with strong UEFA coefficient performances, which the Premier League earned this season as well.

2015-16

In the 2025-16 Champions League season, Chelsea qualified as the champions of the Premier League 2014-15. Manchester City and Arsenal qualified as the second and third finishers of the league.
