The day is finally coming closer as the 2020 Summer Olympics is knocking at our doors. This year the Olympics is hosted by Tokyo from 23rd July to 28 August. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the international multi-sport event has been postponed and rescheduled from the above-mentioned date. This year 120 Indian athletes from 18 different sporting categories have been named in the final squad for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. This year can single-handedly change a lot for India in Olympics. All we need to do is wait for a few more days to see some exciting performances and representation of the Indian athletes at such a prestigious platform globally. July 23, Friday
On the very first day of the Tokyo Olympics, 2 of the best archers from India- Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das will be playing. For progressing in the next games they need to finish in the top 32.
July 24, Saturday
Indian athletes will be representing in a total of 6 different sports on the second day of the Tokyo Olympics.
At first, shooters- Elavenil Valarivan (10m rifle) and Saurabh Chaudhary, and Abhishek Verma (10m pistol) will be competing for the gold.
Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting (49kg category).
Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das in the mixed team archery event.
Paddlers Manika Batra and Sharath Kamal will be competing in the mix doubles round of 16.
PV Sindhu will be representing in badminton.
The women's hockey team will be competing against the Netherlands whereas the men's hockey team will be competing against New Zealand.
July 25, Sunday
Sunday is again a power-packed day at the Olympics with five different sports for Indian athletes.
Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Manu Bhaker (10m pistol) and Divyansh Singh Panwar (10m rifle) will be aiming for the podium finish.
Mary Kom and teammates Pooja Rani and Manish Kaushik will be beginning the boxing campaign.
The first Indian woman to represent India in Olympic sailing, Nethra Kumanan, will be competing as well
The men's hockey team will be competing against the no. 1 team Australia.
Pranati Nayak will be competing in gymnastics. She is the only Indian to qualify for gymnastics. She needs to finish at the top 8 in the vault to reach the finals.
July 26, Monday
Sajan Prakash will be competing for the semis of 200m butterfly.
Archers- Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav, and Tarundeep Rai will be competing for 10s in the men's team event.
One of the best from India- Amit Panghal will compete in the ring to win a boxing medal.
The first Indian to compete in fencing, C.A. Bhavani Devi, will compete as well.
The Women's hockey team will take on Germany.
July 27, Tuesday
American gymnasts will fight for their third gold medal consecutively in the women's team event.
Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker will be competing in the 10m air pistol mixed event.
The Men's hockey team will face Spain.
The men's 200m freestyle finals, the men's and the women's 100m backstroke finals in the pool action.
July 28, Wednesday
The Women's hockey team will take on Great Britain.
July 29, Thursday
The men's hockey team will be competing against Argentina. Women's singles finals in Table tennis.
July 30, Friday
Women's quarter-finals, semis, and finals in Archery. Rahi Sarnobat and Manu Bhaker will take on the 25m pistol event. Fouaad Mirza, the Indian equestrian, and his horse will compete against the opponents. The Men's hockey team will face the host, the Japan hockey team. Also, the Women's hockey team will take on Ireland.
July 31, Saturday
Kamalpreet Kaur and Seema Punia, the two discus throwers will represent India in the Olympics.
In archery, the Men's individual quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals will take place.
The Women's 100m finals in athletics will take place as well.
The Women's hockey team will take on South Africa.
Lastly, the Women's singles finals in tennis will also take place on the same date.
August 1, Sunday
The next Sunday is also filled up with lots of sports and adventures.
The final Women's vault and uneven bars will take place.
On the same day, the finals of men's pommel horse and floor exercise apparatus will take place.
The five finals of swimming will happen as well including men's and women's medley relays.
It is also the day for the finals of men's 100m in athletics.
Women's singles finals in badminton will take place as well.
The men's singles finals in tennis are the last competition for the day.
August 2, Monday
The world is waiting to see if the no. 2 in the world, Aishwary Pratap Tomar can make it to the finals of the men's 50m rifle three positions event.
On the same day, the finals of men's pommel horse and floor exercise apparatus will take place.
