The latest entry into the record books came in September 2025, when Australia Women hammered 412 runs against India in New Delhi, equaling their own highest total achieved back in 1997.

1. New Zealand 491/4 vs Ireland | 2018

New Zealand Women started off their home ODI series against Ireland in June 2018 by mounting 491-4 after opting to bat first. Captain Suzie Bates made 151 off 94 balls and number three Maddy Green contributed with 122 runs from just 77 deliveries with 15 regal boundaries and a six. 

Jess Watkin (62 off 59) and Amelia Kerr (81* off 45) and 31 extras also left a lasting impression as the New Zealand team toppled its own 21-year-old record in Women’s ODIs. The hosts ended up securing a huge 347-run win to signal a long and tiring week for the visitors.

2. New Zealand 455/5 vs Pakistan | 1997

In the second ODI of their two-match series against the visiting Pakistan team at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval in January 1997, the Maia Lewis-led New Zealand team towed 455 runs from 50 overs for the loss of just five wickets. Skipper Lewis herself top-scored in the innings by cracking 105 from just 72 balls.

The innings marked the first-ever occasion of a team 400 in ODIs, and it remained the highest-ever women’s ODI total for over two decades.

3. New Zealand 440/3 vs Ireland | 2018

Just three days after belting 418 runs at the city’s Vineyard, New Zealand accrued 440-3 from 50 overs against Ireland. Amelia Kerr, aged 17 at the time, batted out the innings and clobbered 232 of those runs from just 145 balls with 31 boundaries and two sixes.

Leigh Kasperek at number three also reaped in a boundary-laden 113, while opener Amy Satterthwaite made a 45-ball 61 during her century-plus partnership with Kerr. Remarkably, Amelia Kerr also picked up five wickets later in the match to headline New Zealand’s 305-run victory and a 3-0 sweep.

4. India 435/5 vs Ireland | 2025

Facing Ireland in the third ODI of their three-match series at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in January 2025, Indian skipper Smriti Mandhana launched 12 boundaries and seven huge sixes in her 80-ball 135. Her younger partner Pratika Rawal also made her presence known by composing 154 runs from 129 balls as the two openers shared 233 runs for the first wicket.

Richa Ghosh at number three smeared 59 from 42 balls against Ireland’s bowlers as India racked up 435-5 from 50 overs, their highest team total and the fourth highest overall in women’s ODIs at the time.

5. New Zealand 418 vs Ireland | 2018

New Zealand scored 418 runs without facing their 50 overs in the second ODI from their three-match away series against Ireland back in June 2018. With a 1-0 lead, opening batter Sophie Devine smashed 108 from just 61 with 13 boundaries and six sixes while Maddy Green at number three hit a 36-ball half-century.

New Zealand recorded a huge 306-run win after amassing one of ODI cricket’s biggest totals.

Australia beat India in a remarkable series decider in Delhi 2025 that set a new record for the most runs scored in a women's one-day international. Beth Mooney hit a career-best 138, powering Australia to their joint highest-ever innings total of 412 all out.

Mooney's whirlwind 138 off 79 balls lit up the middle overs, young opener Georgia Voll (81), Ellyse Perry (68) and skipper Alyssa Healy (30) provided the early fireworks after electing to bat first.
