BBL 11 team of the year

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan and Australia all-rounder Moises Henriques were selected in the Big Bash League 11 Team on Monday. The head coaches of the eight clubs of the tournament selected the BBL 11 team of the year.

It is quite shocking to see the Australian T20 star Glenn Maxwell missing out on the BBL 11 team of the year. Even after hitting 2 centuries and scoring the highest runs in the history of BBL, Maxwell did not get the opportunity to be in the BBL 11 team of the year. The openers Ben McDermott and Josh Philippe, Daniel Sams, and Peter Siddle got the maximum number of votes to win places in the BBL 11 team.

McDermott is the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 577 runs including back-to-back centuries. He hit 110* against the Strikers and 127 against the Renegades respectively and impressed all.

The coaches selected Peter Siddle as the captain of the team. He is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 29 wickets. He led the Strikers to win straight 6 matches and entered the final three last night.

Josh Philippe, Mitch Marsh, Matt Short, Hayden Kerr Joe Clarke, Andrew Tye, Sean Abbott, and Jason Sangha also joined the above-mentioned players in the team. Also, 10 of these 13 cricketers were featured in cricket.com.au's team of the tournament.
