Fajr International Challenge: Sathish-Aadya and Sai-Krishna pair clinch mixed and men's doubles titles respectively

The 32nd Iran Fajr International Challenge witnessed intense badminton battles that culminated in thrilling victories, as Indian shuttlers showcased their prowess on the global stage. In a nail-biting mixed doubles final on Saturday, the pair of Sathish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath won the title by defeating fellow Indians B Sumeeth Reddy and N Sikki Reddy at the 32nd Iran Fajr International Challenge badminton in Yazd, Iran.

The captivating showdown saw Sathish and Aadya secure a hard-fought 22-20, 21-14 victory over the formidable duo of Sumeeth and Sikki, adding another feather to the cap of Indian badminton. The triumph in the mixed doubles finale highlighted the skill and resilience of the Indian pair as they celebrated their success on the international stage.

On the other hand, K Sai Pratheek and Krishna Prasad Garage won the men's doubles title by defeating Mexico's Job Castillo and Luis Armando Montoya. The Indian duo emerged victorious with a scoreline of 21-18, 21-19 in the final on Sunday, further solidifying India's dominance in the Fajr International Challenge tournament.

However, the men's singles final presented a formidable challenge for Sathish Kumar Karunakaran, who faced a tough opponent in Hong Kong's Nguyen Hai Dang. Despite putting up a spirited fight, Sathish ultimately lost 17-21, 18-21, settling for the runner-up position in the category. In the women's singles final of Fajr International Challenge, fourth seed Tasnim Mir faced tough competition from Hong Kong's Sin Yan Happy Lo, ultimately succumbing to a 14-21, 12-21 defeat.
