BCCI has sacked the whole selection committe of the Indian Men's Cricket team after the team's failure in the T20 World Cup 2022. The Indian Cricket News broke out when BCCI announced an invitation for the position of National Selectors on Friday evening.
During Chetan Sharma and his team's tenure, the Indian team failed to qualify for the knockouts of the 2021 T20 World Cup and Asia Cup 2022 as well. Moreover, their recent failure in the 2022 T20 World Cup made sure their time on the selection committee was over.
Chetan (North zone), Harvinder Singh (Central Zone), Sunil Joshi (South zone) and Debashish Mohanty (East zone) had one of the shortest terms in recent years as National selectors. Generally, every selection committee gets a four-year contract and then gets extensions, provided the team did well in those years. However, some of the selectors from Chetan Sharma's team were appointed in 2020 and 2021.
The last date for application is 28th November.

Below are the requirements to apply for National Selector's post
- Should have played a minimum of
a) 7 Test matches; OR
b) 30 First Class matches; OR
c) 10 ODI and 20 First Class matches.
- Should have retired from the game at least 5 years ago.
- No person who has been a member of any Cricket Committee (as defined in the rules and regulations of BCCI) for a total of 5 years shall be eligible to be a member of the Men's Selection Committee.
