Indian swimmers Sajan Prakash and Hashika Ramachandra grabbed the best athlete awards in the National Games 2022. The 36th National Games saw many catch the eye of Indian sports fans, but, 14-year-old Hashika Ramachandra was surely the centre of attraction. Meanwhile, Sajan Prakash who was already a rising star in 2015, performed with his full potential.

Sajan Prakash bagged as many as 8 medals in the National Games 2022. He won 5 gold, 2 silver and one bronze medal. Swimmer Srihari Natraj also won eight medals with six golds including two in relays. However, Srihari could not go past Sajan to bag the Best Male athlete award. This is the successive time that the 29-year-old won the prestigious award. Sajan won the award back in 2015 as well.
Sajan also broke the National Games record in Men's 400m Medley with timing of 2:05.81.

14-year-old Hashika Ramachandra broke two records on her way to winning six gold medals in the National Games 2022. Hashika broke the National Games record in Women's 200m Freestyle with timing of 2:19.12. She snatched the National Games record in Women's 400M Freestyle as well with a timing of 4:32.17.
Hashika won 7 medals in the games with 6 of them being Gold and 1 being Bronze medal.
Karnatak won a total of 39 medals in Aquatics with 19 golds, 8 silvers and 12 bronze medals.
