Real Madrid transfer News: Los Blancos interested in Havertz, Chelsea open to a move

In Real Madrid transfer news, Los Blancos interested in the German international and Chelsea are open to moving on forward Kai Havertz this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Real Madrid are reported to hold "concrete interest" in the 23-year-old, with manager Carlo Ancelotti viewing him as a potential transfer option, and it looks as though the Blues would be prepared to discuss the potential of him leaving Stamford Bridge.

While they wouldn't be open to any deal involving a loan, they would allow the Germany international to make the switch to the Santiago Bernabeu should Los Blancos be able to propose a transfer fee that meets their valuation.

He played regularly for Chelsea last season, making 47 appearances across all competitions, but having scored just nine goals, new manager Mauricio Pochettino could be looking for a more clinical No. 9 to lead his forward line next season.

Havertz arrived in west London from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £75 million in 2020.

The summer clear-out at Stamford Bridge appears to be picking up steam. Incoming head coach Mauricio Pochettino and the Chelsea higher-ups will trim down the bloated squad that their €600 million spending spree of this season has left them with in the next few months.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek appears to be on his way to Milan, while Romelu Lukaku could stay in Italy as well. Lukaku's current club Inter is reportedly trying to engineer a deal for Trevoh Chalobah. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also expected to depart this summer and the Blues are even considering offloading Kalidou Koulibaly after just one season.

There's plenty of business to be done, and a surprise name has cropped up in recent days as a potential player to be sold. Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that this is indeed a possibility.
