Sania-McHale ease pass to the semi-finals at Cleveland

India's Sania Mirza and her American partner Christina McHale breeze passed to the semifinals in the Land tournament. They registered a straight-set win over Lucie Hradecka and Shuai Zhang in Cleveland.

Mirza and McHale hardly broke a sweat on their journey to the semis. They beat Czech Republic's Hradecka and her Chinese partner Zhang 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets. Just within one hour one minute, the women's doubles quarterfinals on Thursday came to an end. The Indian-American pair dominated in their first serve with a success rate of 78.9%. Moreover, they converted five out of nine break points to claim a comfortable victory.

Mirza and McHale will now take on Norway's Ulrikke Eikeri and American Catherine Harrison in the semi-finals. They are yet to drop a set at the Cleveland championships. Earlier in the tournament, they had defeated Georgia's Oksana Kalashnikova and her Romanian partner Andreea Mitu. It was also a 6-3, 6-2 straight-set win for the pair in the opening round.

Eikeri and Harrison also made their way to the semi-finals after defeating America's Neel and her French partner Lechemia 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets. The clash between Sania-McHale and Eikeri-Harrison will be a very highly anticipated match with both pairs looking to lift the trophy.
