The International Cricket Council revealed the group stage draws of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan are in the same group.

The International Cricket Council revealed the group stage draws of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. India and Pakistan are in the same group.

ICC recently released the T20 World Cup Schedule 2021 Match Date and Time, Venue, and Stadiums. After the outburst of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, ICC announced UAE and Oman as the joint hosts of the vent. Subsequently, the tournament will move across four venues. The stadiums being- Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.

All the teams participating in the tournament will be divided into two groups - Group 1 and Group 2. The International Cricket Council revealed the groupings on Friday.
India will join Pakistan, Afghanistan and New Zealand in Group 2.
Meanwhile, Group 1 will feature heavyweights like England, Australia, South Africa and the West Indies.

The top eight-ranked teams based on MRF Tyres ICC World T20I Team Rankings as of 31 December 2018 have automatically qualified.

ICC T20 World Cup: The Qualifiers:

Eight teams will battle it out in the qualifiers. However, only four teams will proceed to the super 12. The eight teams are divided into two groups, the groups being - Group A and Group B.

Teams in Group A:

  • Sri Lanka
  • Namibia
  • The Netherlands
  • Ireland

The winner of Group A will join Group 1 in the super 12. However, the runners-up of Group A will join Group 2 in the super 12 stages of the tournament.

Teams in Group B:

  • Oman
  • Bangladesh
  • PNG
  • Scotland

The winner of Group B will join Group 2 in the super 12. However, the runners-up of Group A will join Group 1 in the super 12 stages of the tournament.
