Wrestlers' Protest: "We do not belong to any party. Come, join the wrestlers:" Bajrang Punia wants everyone to join them in their protest

Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has recently made a call for people on Twitter to join the wrestlers' Protest, with the slogan "We do not belong to any party. Come, join the wrestlers." Punia, who is currently one of India's top wrestlers, has been a vocal critic of women's sexual harassment.

Delhi minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday said a 'mahapanchayat' will be organised at Jantar Mantar on May 7. This will chalk out the next course of action for the wrestlers' protest against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. After that, Punia clarified that they don't belong to any political party, this protest is for the women. Punia also called everyone to join the wrestlers' protest at the Jantar Mantar.

Rai and his cabinet colleague Saurabh Bharadwaj visited Jantar Mantar along with representatives of 360 villages of Delhi. Narela, Bawana, Mundka, Najafgarh, Matiala, Chhatarpur, and Bijwasan also visited with him to extend support to the wrestlers' protest. The AAP Delhi convener said a panchayat will happen in all villages of Delhi on May 4, 5, and 6. This will raise awareness and get support for the protest. Then a mahapanchayat will happen on May 7. Punia agreed on that matter. By emphasizing that the protest is not aligned with any political party, Punia is trying to create a sense of unity and common purpose among the protesters. He wants everyone, regardless of their political affiliations, to join in the protest and demand safety for women.

The wrestler's protest has been demanding criminal action against Singh for the alleged sexual harassment and intimidation of seven female wrestlers, one of whom is a minor. Delhi Police filed two FIRs against the WFI president on Friday. The protesting wrestlers had moved the Supreme Court, seeking registration of FIRs against Singh.
