Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the Indian Wells 2022 tournament, sending sorrow down the spines of ardent tennis lovers. The event officials announced through Twitter on Thursday morning that the 20-year-old had withdrawn owing to a serious illness. The news came just under an hour before Sinner and Nick Kyrgios were due to lock horns in the 4th round of the tournament.

When Sinner faced Benjamin Bonzi in the third round of the Indian Wells 2022, he was noticed battling with his stomach. The Italian eventually won the match in 2 hours and 37 minutes, but his condition was clearly precarious. Unfortunately, he was unable to recuperate in time to face Kyrgios.
