Rafael Nadal played only one event since the French Open because of his foot injury. The last time he played was the Citi Open in August. But the good news is that he is returning to the practice court and is preparing himself. The 35-year-old revealed that he wants to play the Australian Open and is also thinking of coming to the Abu Dhabi exhibition before the next season begins.
Rafael Nadal said at a sponsorship event in Paris, "My plan is to play in Abu Dhabi in December, and then a tournament before Australia and then the Australian Open. That is my goal. We are working hard to make this happen."

Previously, Rafael Nadal returned during the hard court swing. Unfortunately, he withdrew from the next three events and also made the announcement that he will not be participating in any of the games for the left part of the season. He was facing a bone problem on his foot and it was bothering him for a very long time. Sadly it became painful and unbearable recently and he underwent a small procedure for that.
Nadal further added, "I have started practicing again.
I am feeling better. I was off the courts since the foot surgery in September, but I have picked up the racquet again and am on the courts. So far, all the signs are good."
