Only Rohit Sharma (2019 World Cup) and Raul Dravid (1999 World Cup) had scored successive tons in ODI World Cups prior to Iyer's knock.
He scored an unbeaten 128 against Netherlands in India's final league stage match
Shreyas Iyer scored 105 runs off 70 balls, hitting four boundaries and eight sixes against New Zealand. His knock helped post 397 for 4 in the 1st innings in Mumbai.
With this knock, Iyer went past 500 runs in his maiden ODI World Cup campaign. He is in the sixth position of most run getters in World Cup 2023.
