Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has joined Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid in an elite list. He has become the third Indian batter to score back-to-back centuries in ODI World Cups
Only Rohit Sharma (2019 World Cup) and Raul Dravid (1999 World Cup) had scored successive tons in ODI World Cups prior to Iyer's knock.
He scored an unbeaten 128 against Netherlands in India's final league stage match
Shreyas Iyer scored 105 runs off 70 balls, hitting four boundaries and eight sixes against New Zealand. His knock helped post 397 for 4 in the 1st innings in Mumbai.
With this knock, Iyer went past 500 runs in his maiden ODI World Cup campaign. He is in the sixth position of most run getters in World Cup 2023.
India's total is the highest-ever in the history of knockout matches in ODI World Cup and also aiming to win their 3rd ODI World Cup title and their 2nd one at home.
