Saturday's title win capped off a stellar year for Delhi's Anahat Singh, who registered a double record at the Under-19 and Senior National Championships and a bronze medal in mixed doubles with Abhay Singh at both the Asian Games and the inaugural Asian Mixed Doubles Championships.

Anahat Singh, though barely in her teens, has been touted as India's next squash superstar and there's good reason behind the tag.

Anahat Singh was the youngest member of the Indian contingent for the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham and even got a win under her belt at her debut major senior competition, beating Jada Ross of St Vincent and the Grenadines in the round of 64.

Anahat Singh shot to fame in 2019 after winning the under-11 girls' category gold medal at the prestigious British Open squash tournament, a first-ever for India. She also won a bronze at the Asian junior championships later that year.

Meanwhile, India's Subhash Choudhary defeated compatriot Shiven Agarwal 5-11, 11-4, 6-11, 11-8, 11-5 in the boys' under-15 final, while Shresht Iyer defeated Shreyansh Jah 11-8, 11-8, 3-11, 11-8 in All India Boys Under-13 final on Saturday.

Top seeded Indian Aadya Budhia showed resilience to beat Malaysia's Niea Chew 9-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9 in the girls under-13 final, while top seeded Prabhav Bajoria defeated second seed Aaditya Shah 5-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-6 in the All India Boys Under-11 final. Divyanshi Jain was the runner-up in the girls' under-11 category.

Around 200 players from more than 30 countries participated in the event.
