He had arrived here to attend the opening ceremony of the National Games 2022. It started in Gujarat from 29 September to 12 October 2022.

Earlier, the Indian Olympic Association had made it mandatory for Commonwealth Games medalists to play in the national sport. But many medalists have pulled out of the Games because of injuries. That's why Neeraj Chopra, Bajrang Punia, Ravi Kumar, and Sakshi Malik will not be the part of the Games. At the same time, two-time Olympic medalists PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth will also not participate in the game.

Neeraj Chopra along with commentator Charu Sharma also attended the Garba function. All the celebrities danced a lot while Neeraj did the Garba with the people and the fans also took a lot of selfies with Neeraj. The video of him playing Garba is becoming very viral on social media. Garba is held in Gujarat on the auspicious occasion of Navratri which is famous all over the world.

Around 15000 players, coaches, and officials from across the country will participate in around 36 sports, making it the biggest national sport ever. These games are going to be organized in 6 big cities of Gujarat which include - Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar.
