Neeraj Chopra at Diamond League Final: When and where to watch in India

Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra will defend his title in the Diamond League final late tonight which will be played in Eugene city of America. Neeraj's match will take place today at 12:50 AM.

Earlier, Neeraj qualified for the finals by finishing second with a best score of 85.71 meters in the 11th meet of the Diamond League in Zurich city of Switzerland. Chopra is the current Diamond League Men's Javelin Throw champion, he won this trophy in 2022.

Meanwhile, Murali Sreeshankar in men's long jump and Avinash Sable in 3000 meter steeplechase also qualified for the Diamond League finals of their respective events. Both the players, however, decided to withdraw from the Eugene competition to focus on the Asian Games to be held in China from September 23.

Neeraj has become the first Indian athlete to win both Olympic and World Championship gold simultaneously. He won gold in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. India has been participating in the Olympics since 1900, but before Neeraj, no Indian had won a medal of any color, leave alone gold, in track and field events. Before Neeraj, Milkha Singh and PT Usha's fourth-place finish in separate Olympics was India's best performance.

If Neeraj Chopra holds the trophy at the Prefontaine Classic, he will become only the third man to defend the DL overall title, though the format changed in 2017.
