Scoring a century in T20 Internationals (T20Is) is no easy feat. Though the format itself is designed for quick scoring, smashing a hundred in record time requires a needs the batters to have aggression, precision, and fearless approach.
Since the inception of T20I cricket, fans have witnessed some breathtaking innings that have left fans and even the opponents in awe. Here’s a look at the fastest T20I hundreds scored by players from ICC full-member teams.
1. David Miller – 35 Balls vs Bangladesh (2017)
Nicknamed “Killer Miller” for his destructive batting, David Miller showcased his brutal mode against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom in 2017. The South African southpaw hammered his way to a 35-ball century, becoming the player to hit the fastest T20I hundred. Despite effort from many batters around the world, his record is still intact.
Miller's innings was a blend of fearless hitting and calculated aggression, dismantling a rather weak Bangladeshi bowling attack. His knock included 9 sixes and 7 boundaries. Miller got out on 101 from 36 balls.
South Africa won that match by 83 runs as Bangladesh failed to chase their first inning total of 224.
2. Rohit Sharma – 35 Balls vs Sri Lanka (2017)
Former Indian T20I captain and the T20 World Cup 2024 winner Rohit Sharma matched Miller’s record just a few months later in December 2017. Playing against Sri Lanka in Indore, Rohit scored the fastest T20I hundred by an Indian in just 35 balls.
Rohit's exquisite timing and powerful hitting helped him had 10 sixes and 12 boundaries. Rohit went on to score 118 off 43 balls, which helped India to a 88 run victory over the neighbors. This is also the fastest T20I hundred by an opener.
Rohit scored 30 runs off 8 balls against Thisara Perera and 20 off 4 balls against Asela Gunaratne during that inning.
3. Abhishek Sharma – 37 Balls vs England (2025)

The latest entrant to this elite list is India’s Abhishek Sharma. The flamboyant opener, who idolizes Yuvraj Singh, nearly shamed the former batter's record for fastest fifty in T20I cricket against England in Mumbai. He first scored the second fastest T20I fifty by an Indian in 17 balls before smashing a 37-ball century.
It was astonishing to see how the southpaw batter went against the pacers like Mark Wood and Jofra Archer in that inning. Abhishek scored 135 from 54 balls which had 7 fours and 13 humongous sixes, which is also a record by any Indian.
This was also the highest T20I score by an Indian.

4. Johnson Charles – 39 Balls vs South Africa (2023)
You are making a list of fastest scores in T20I cricket and you do not have any West Indian player in that list, is quite impossible. West Indian power-hitter Johnson Charles entered the record books in 2023 with a blazing 39-ball century against South Africa in Centurion.
Charles still has the record for the fastest T20I ton in away country among full ICC members. The wicket-keeper batter scored 118 from 46 balls including 10 fours and 11 sixes.
However, it was not good enough to hand his team a win as South Africa chased down West Indies' 259-run target with 7 balls to go. Quinton de Kock scored a 40-ball ton the second inning for South Africa.
5. Sanju Samson – 40 Balls vs Bangladesh (2024)
Sanju Samson often regarded as one of the most talented modern day batters of Indian cricket. The swashbuckling top order showed his class with one of the most brutal inning against Bangladesh in 2024.
The Kerala batter came as an opener during the third T20I of the series against Bangladesh in Hyderabad and started hitting the ball from the go. Samson scored his maiden ton in 40 balls before getting dismissed on 111 off 47 balls.
Sanju's blistering inning helped India score their highest T20I team total of 297/6. India won the match by 133 runs.
