Test cricket is the format that tests the patience of a batsman to a great extent. Any batsman who plays for the country wants to hit a Test hundred for the team. Scoring a century is already a big thing but scoring two in a single test match is an unbelievable feat in itself. There have been some players who have shown magnificent performance in a Test match by scoring a hundred in both innings. In this article, we are going to list out the active players who have achieved this milestone.

Active Players to score centuries in both Test innings:
Among active players, David Warner has recorded this unique feat for the most times (3). His extraordinary efforts came against New Zealand, India and South Africa. Brendan Taylor of Zimbabwe has also hit twin hundreds multiple times (2), both coming against Bangladesh.
Other active players who have hit hundreds in both innings of a Test match include Azhar Ali, Mominul Haque, Shai Hope, Bairstow, Marnus Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja, and Kieran Powell. Powell's feat came in 2012 against Bangladesh when he hit 117 runs and 110 runs in the two innings. The most recent player who achieved that feat is Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh. He scored 146 runs in the first inning and 124 in the second inning of the one-off test against Afghanistan.
Steve Smith, who returned to Test cricket after a long gap due to his ban, too made his comeback memorable with twin hundreds against England in Ashes 2019. He registered scores of 144 and 142 in the Birmingham Test.
Active Indian Cricketers to score centuries in both Test innings:
Among Indian players, captain Virat Kohli, opener-batsman Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane are the three players to achieve this milestone. Virat Kohli set the stage on fire when he smashed hundreds in both innings in his very first match as captain. India were without the services of their regular captain MS Dhoni the first Test of four-match series on the Australia tour. Virat scored 115 runs in the first innings, and then went on to smash another hundred in the second innings. Despite a brilliant effort from Virat, India were unable to chase the target of 364 runs in the fourth innings as they were bowled out for 315 runs.
Ajinkya Rahane hit two hundreds in a single test match against South Africa in the home series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. He scored 127 runs and 100* runs in the two innings. Rohit Sharma smashed 176 runs in the first innings and then scored 127 runs in the second innings against South Africa in 2019. India were able to win the match very comfortably with an incredible performance from Rohit Sharma.
