The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday has made a huge increase in the prize money of all domestic cricket tournaments. Women players have benefited the most in this.

Meanwhile, the Ranji Trophy winner will get a prize money of Rs 5 crore from this season. The Ranji Trophy winners, who used to get Rs 2 crore as prize money till now, will get Rs 5 crore as per the new structure of domestic cricket. While the runners-up and semi-final teams will get Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore each, respectively.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet, "I'm pleased to announce an increase in prize money for all @BCCI Domestic Tournaments."

At the same time, the Irani Cup winner will also get Rs 50 lakh instead of Rs 25 lakh. The runner-up team currently does not get any cash prize but will now get Rs 25 lakh. While in Duleep Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, the winning team will get Rs 1 crore. On the other hand, the runner-up team will get Rs 50 lakh. The winners of the Deodhar Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will get Rs 40 lakh and the losing team in the final will get Rs 20 lakh.

Meanwhile, to promote women's cricket in a big way in the country, the winners of the Senior Women's ODI Trophy will get a check of Rs 50 lakh. While the runner-up team will get Rs 25 lakh. The prize money of the Senior Women's T20 Trophy of domestic cricket has also been increased. In this, the winning team will get Rs 40 lakh, which is eight times more than the current amount. In this, the team that loses the final will get Rs 20 lakh. The senior women's season will begin with the national T20 tournament from October 19 to November 9. While the Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy is from November 24 to December 4.

Indian domestic cricket 2023-24 season will begin with the Duleep Trophy tournament from June 28. While the flagship tournament, the Ranji Trophy, will start from January 5 next year.
