Bengal Cricket: Town looks to break the trophy jinks, signs Shreyan Chakrabarty from East Bengal

The transfer window is one of the most exciting times in Bengal Cricket where surprises become a normal thing. For the upcoming 2022-23 season the Town Club signs talented youngster Shreyan Chakrabarty, on Friday (September 2) from Mohun Bagan. Meanwhile, Kalighat bagged experienced Debabrata Das yesterday. They have also got Bengal opener Sudip Gharami from East Bengal as well.

It's just Day 2 of the transfer window and many surprises are waiting in the next some days. Shreyan Chakrabarty is happy with the signing on Day 2 of the transfer window. He has also elaborated on it.

"I was looking for a new challenge. Town offered me to play. The environment here in the team is great as well. I am ready to give my all for Town to win a trophy this season."

Shreyan has also added that it will be his pleasure to play along with a bowler like Sujit Yadav in the team. He also said that picking wickets and winning trophies for the Town Club is his main goal now.

Shreyan on playing alongside Sujit Yadav: "It is awesome to have a bowler like him in the squad already. We will have a healthy competition between us to get more wickets for Town and win a trophy. Winning the trophy is the main goal."

Along with Sudip Gharami, last season's one of the leading run-scorers in club cricket, Ranojit Singh Khaira also left East Bengal to join Kalighat Club.

Meanwhile, Calcutta Customs Club had also bagged some big fish out of the big guns of maidans. Bengal U-25 keeper batter Sourav Paul left Town Club to join back his former club. Customs signed Subhrajit Das from last season's league champion, Bhawanipur Club. Meanwhile, Arikta Das left Police AC to join both of his U-23 Bengal mates.

As per reports, Barisha Sporting Club is scheduled to sign their players today. There might be another surprise waiting for the Bengal cricket fans.
