Brisbane Heat & Perth Scorchers met against each other in the Final of the Big Bash League 2022-23 season at Optus Stadium. Brisbane Heat Captain Jimmy Peirson won the toss and elected to bat first. Josh Brown gave a great start to Brisbane Heat but David Pyne took his wicket and they came under pressure. Sam Heazlett & Nathan McSweeney's partnership carried the team but Behrendorff's spell gave trouble to the Heat's batsmen. Max Bryant's stormy cameo helped the Heat to reach a good total.
Perth Scorchers went to chase & started their inning calmly but the openers couldn't handle the pressure & lost early wickets. Skipper Ashton Turner took responsibility and started hitting boundaries. He completed his half-century but got run out while putting runs to the scoreboard rapidly. Cooper Connolly came & saved the Perth Scorchers by a stormy inning of 25 runs in just 11 deliveries and won it by 5 wickets and 3 balls to spare.
