The Indian sports journalist, academician and author, Boria Majumdar shed some light on the current situation in Indian cricket. Recently there has been many rumours and reports regarding Virat Kohli and his statement on Rohit Sharma. Allegedly the Indian captain wanted to remove Rohit Sharma as the Vice-captain in ODI's and T20's. However, Boria tried to clear the air on the matter stating he just put a suggestion but didn't connive.
According to Boria Majumdar, Virat Kohli didn't make the statements of removing Rohit Sharma from vice-captaincy in ODIs and t20s. He said that the board members generally discussed among themselves.
According to some reports, there were rumours that Kohli wanted a young vice-captain. It is because he will get a taste of the job and will be groomed as well in the process. However, the board might have declined the suggestion as they do not want an inexperienced player to be the captain on the field in absence of Virat Kohli.
