Sylhet Sunrisers won their first natch of BPL 2022 but not without any controversy. Mosaddek Hossain-led team first bundled out the Dhaka team for a mere 100 runs as Nazmul Islam took his first four-for in BPL 2022. Then, Anamul Haque's 45 helped the Sylhet team win the match with three overs to spare.

The Dhaka team was put under tremendous pressure in the first powerplay. They could only manage 17 runs in the powerplay and even lost three major wickets in Tamim Iqbal. Sohag Gazi and Mosaddek Hossain was the bowler in that case.
The LBW drama
But the real drama started when Nazmul Islam came into the scene. First, he trapped Mohammad Naim LBW and it was given out by the umpire. Although it was clear on the replay that Naim had hit his glove while playing the reverse-sweep against Nazmul.
The horrible umpiring continued when Andre Russell was given out LBW in Nazmul's bowling again. The replayed video showed that Russell had an insight edge into his front pad. However, with the availability of the DRS in the BPL 2022, Russell was compelled to walk off without any answer.

Dhaka captain Mahmudullah went up in protest and had some words with the on-field umpires. Even some of the Dhaka players were seen having a word with the fourth umpire as well.
Even the LBW of Tamim Iqbal was bit controversial as well. Infact, Tamim had planted a very long foot forward even he was given out when appealing. WIth there major wickets gone adided by very pouring umpiring, the Dhaka team could not just hold their frustration and angusih about that.
In fact, this is not the first time that questions have been raised in umpiring system Bnagladesh cricket. Even many umpires have also come out in front to let everyone know how the administration manipulates the games via them. The big Shakib kicking the wickets drama was aided by controversial umpring as well.
With No DRS is action, this must be the high time Bnagaldesh cricket look into this matter before the turt of the fans on cricket is fans.
Post all the drama, the Sylhet team did not make fus about the chase. They comfortably chased down the needed 1O1 runs with Ravi Bopara hitting the winning runs.
