IPL 2022 Updates: Rajasthan Royals fire their social media team

After skipper Sanju Samson complained about his modified image, the Rajasthan Royals are likely to sack their social media manager.

Making altered photos and utilising them as memes is fairly prevalent these days. Also, it is sometimes even a necessary component of effective marketing. Also, while it is understandable that friends make fun of each other by generating memes, it appears like an official team insulting their own player by creating a morphed image of them is a little unethical.

On the official Twitter account of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals, something similar happened. "Kya khoob lagte ho," the franchise in Jaipur captioned a modified image of Sanju Samson making fun of the Kerala cricketer.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been uploading such photographs of cricketers on his social media, was the target of his ire.

SRH vs RR IPL 2025 Match Preview, Head-to-head, Possible XIs and Fantasy Team Prediction

In the second match of IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on March 23 at the Eden Gardes Stadium in Kolkata.

SRH team, which created a sensation with its explosive performance last season, would like to end the title drought this time. The team missed out on winning the title last year. Now the team led by Pat Cummins will attack on March 23 in its home ground i.e. Hyderabad.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals would like to start the new season with a win. Rajasthan won the first season of IPL in 2008, but has never won the IPL title since then.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson will once again take over the captaincy of the team in IPL 2025. Talking about the performance of Rajasthan Royals last season, they were eliminated after losing in Qualifier-2, but this time their effort will be to get closer to the title.

The surface of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad provides great bounce and batters love to score on this venue. Last year, many high scoring clashes were held at this ground. Mostly pacers take more wickets at this ground but spinners also turn out to be economical.

As it will be a day-night match, the spinners are likely to get more help during the first innings and the team winning toss will prefer to chase. Out of these 77 IPL matches played at this ground, the team batting first won 34 times while the team bowling first won 42 times. The average first innings score at this ground is 163 runs.

Team News

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Runners-up last season, SRH will be aiming to start strong at home on what’s expected to be a flat, high-scoring track at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

With Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen in the top order, the hosts are capable of posting record-breaking totals. Abhishek, fresh off a 135-run blitz in a recent T20I, is expected to continue his fine form, while the return of all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy strengthens the middle.

The bowling attack, led by skipper Pat Cummins, includes the seasoned Mohammed Shami, spin ace Adam Zampa, and death-overs specialist Harshal Patel — making this a formidable unit across all phases.

Rajasthan Royal

Rajasthan Royals are hampered by the unavailability of captain Sanju Samson as a fielder or keeper due to a finger injury. He’s expected to bat as an Impact Player, with Riyan Parag leading the side.

Without Jos Buttler, RR’s batting leans heavily on Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shimron Hetmyer.

Their bowling attack, led by Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga, has the potential but lacks depth on paper compared to SRH.

Having dominated the Royals last season — including a crucial win in Qualifier 2 — Sunrisers will be looking to extend their supremacy in what promises to be a high-octane afternoon clash.
