Mumbai Indians, five-time IPL champions, left with Cape Town and were four-time winners. Meanwhile, Johannesburg was purchased by Chennai Super Kings, Pretoria by Delhi Capitals, Durban by Lucknow Super Giants, Port Elizabeth by Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Paarl by Rajasthan Royals.

It is the first time ever that a cricketer has been in charge of a T20 league with the appointment of former South Africa captain Graeme Smith as commissioner.

Former IPL COO Sundar Raman is the creator of this league, which is supported by CSA. Deloitte is still reviewing the more refined text of the franchise agreements. However, this week's official announcements will be made between Tuesday and Thursday.

The CSA T20 League is scheduled to start on January 2023

Recently, Cricket South Africa decided to suspend its bilateral agreement in Australia in order to provide room and time for the brand-new league. The T20 league will begin in January of the following year.

Given the investors on board, the league will undoubtedly aid CSA financially, but the time zone allows CSA to benefit greatly given the way the nation accommodates different time zones throughout the world.

Additionally, this T20 competition will undoubtedly provide the IPL a boost as the main Indian T20 product goes international in every meaning of the word. For the record, four of the six IPL franchises that have acquired teams in South Africa have won 11 IPL championships.

"Given that the IPL franchises have established their foothold in India, this will keep the IPL in the public eye for longer than the three months it is played there. Additionally, it will strengthen ties between South Africa and India "those keeping tabs on developments
