Team News

Chennai Super Kings

Fast bowler Deepak Chahar featured in the last match and bowled a decent spell. Rachin hasn't looked amongst runs after the first two games and he continuously struggling to score runs. Rahane has been on and off so far it is highly unlikely that CSK will change their lineup.

Skipper Ruturaj has impressed with his calm and composed batting and captaincy while Shivam Dube is scoring at a sensational strike rate in every match this season. He has been the most important player for CSK with the bat, scoring 245 runs already this season. The five-time champions will be hoping for the same from him on Friday as well. Daryl Mitchell hasn't done anything so far to justify his selection but there is plenty of time to make improvements as CSK have options on the bench.

MS Dhoni once again played a sensational cameo and he has been doing so whenever he has got the opportunity to come into bat. He isn't looking like a 42-year-old, especially with his keeping and batting. He will be there to play the role of a finishing role and Jadeja will be accompanying him. Jadeja batted well in the last game but he hasn't been great with the ball this season. Matheesa Pathirana is a gem of a bowler and he is proving it in every game. Tushar Deshpande has worked on himself which is visible and he is not leaking runs cheaply anymore although he didn't have a great game against LSG. Mustafizur started the season well but he is struggling to replicate those performances which has caused CSK some problems.

Lucknow Super Giants

Mayank Yadav is fit but didn't feature in the previous game against CSK. LSG lost two of their last games before beating CSK. Kl Rahul has found himself among some runs and it was important for Lucknow. Quinton de Kock scored a half-century in the last game but his strike rate was questionable.

Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis are not consistent and the middle order has been an issue for the Lucknow-based franchise for some time. Pooran is the only one who is contributing with some important knocks in every game. He is the second top run-getter for LSG this season with 246 runs. Deepak Hooda cannot be a solution and he proved that by himself. Krunal Pandya hasn't scored enough runs as an all-rounder so there have been lots of issues in LSG's batting.

Shamar Joseph's debut didn't happen the way LSG management wanted. They stopped him for so long to finally make a break but it wasn't the correct situation and opposition to come up against. Matt Henry replaced Shamar in the previous match and bowled a decent spell. Mohsin Khan bowled beautifully against the Knight Riders but he conceded runs against CSK.

Yash Thakur hasn't bowled well after scalping five wickets against Gujarat. Arshad is struggling too and Ravi Bishnoi leaked runs cheaply against CSK in the previous match. Krunal Pandya made a good comeback in the CSK game and he would be hoping to replicate that against the same side once again.
