CSK vs SRH: IPL 2023 Match Report
Chennai started the chase with their typical in-form openers, Gaikwad & Conway. CSK started the low total chase confidently and carried on the momentum which they got during bowling. Conway smashed two back-to-back boundaries in the third over and it was the statement of Conway's brilliant form. Chennai accumulated 23 runs from the last over of the powerplay and reached 60 runs without loosing a single wicket. Conway just humbled Marco Jansen completely by showing the trajectory he got.
Conway reached his half-century, his third consecutive half-century of the campaign. Chennai Super Kings reached 87 runs in the first 10 overs. A good delivery by Umran in the 11th over and Conway hit it straight but it deflected off the bowler's fingers onto the stumps at the non-striker's end. Gaikwad was out of the crease and the deflection caused the first wicket. Gaikwad departed after scoring 35 runs in 30 deliveries, a stable & mature inning but an unfortunate dismissal.
It didn't matter for CSK as they carried on the run chase with ease. Rahane & Ambati Raydu didn't contribute too much but Devon Conway was enough for the opposition bowlers. He remained not out till the end and chased it down by scoring 77 runs in 57 runs with 12 boundaries & 1 maximum. CSK held their ground strong with yet another win but it is looking like they will easily qualify for the playoffs.
