David Warner's wife Candice Warner criticize Cricket Australian's leadership ban on David Warner for his role in Sandpapergate in a recent interview. She said Warner could be lost to the upcoming Big Bash League season in Australia if the leadership ban is not removed.

"Yeah it bothers me, I don't like injustice so it does bother me. But it doesn't really bother him because he can go and captain in the UAE, he can go and captain in India where people appreciate his cricketing brain and what he can bring to a team." Candice recently said at the Triple M's Deadset Legends with Dan, Richard and Candice.

The left handed batter made a record of half century in 18 balls only in KFC T-20 Big Bash. In the first season of BBL, Warner represented Sydney Thunder as a captain. In his first match for the Thunder, he scored 102 not out off just 51 balls with a strike rate of 200 runs per 100 balls. He played for Sydney Sixers in 2012-13 season.

David warner instructed Cameron Bancroft to scuff the ball with sandpaper in 2018 South Africa series. After Cricket Australia suspended Warner along with the captain Steve Smith for one year. Besides, Australian cricket board banned Cameron Bancroft for nine months. Not only that, warner had to give up his leadership for life and Steve Smith for two years. Smith joined as the vice-captain under Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins said in a statement, "Warner is a fantastic leader around our squad here…If he has a formal role, he'd be fantastic with that as well. So if that ever came up, he'd be great."

ACA head Todd Greenberg said in a statement last year that he will chat with Cricket Australia about reconsidering Warner's ban. On the other hand, Nick Cummins, the head of Victorian Cricket had said that CA had no power to prevent BBL clubs or the state teams from naming the southpaw as their skipper.
