Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes have made an immediate impact since taking over an England Test team that had won just one of their last 17 matches. Under McCullum and Stokes, England is unbeaten so far. Meanwhile, they have whitewashed New Zealand 3-0 and produced a record-breaking victory over India.
All four victories have come via stunning fourth-innings run chases. However, England is now set to take on South Africa in a three-Test series. Elgar has delivered his verdict on their new aggressive and upbeat brand of cricket.
"The new England style is quite interesting. But I don't see that there's longevity in brave cricket because I see things evening out over time in Test cricket.
There was often parity between England and New Zealand and had New Zealand taken their opportunities, and their catches, then things could have been very different. England would have come away with egg on their faces."

Aiden Markram believes South Africa cannot afford to 'fall into the trap of trying to replicate England's style of play. "We've got our own brand that has been successful for us and we've got to back that," Markram said.

"I don't see our team falling into a trap of playing the same way that they play. We've had chats about not falling into that trap, backing how we play, especially with the bat in hand. We'll keep training our game plans and hopefully, it works well.
"There's lots of experience on our side. It's inexperience that can lead into that trap. We've had chats about it, we will play our own way and see how it unfolds after that."
South Africa has been given a taste of what to expect from 'Bazball' after the England Lions racked up 672 at a run rate of 5.74, with Harry Brook and Ben Duckett striking hundreds and Dan Lawrence and Sam Billings scoring 90s.
