Team News: DC vs RCB in WPL 2025
Here is team news of both Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru before their first clash in WPL 2025.
Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals are coming off a great last ball thriller win against Mumbai Indians in their first match where they were somewhat lucky to escape the defeat.
Shikha Pandey and Annabel Sutherland were the stars of the show for Delhi with the ball in hand. Shikha Pandey's opening spell was top class as she reminded everyone why she is still one of the best in the business. Pandey struck in the first over to dismiss Hayley Matthews and in the fifth over she clean bowled Yastika Bhatia to break the opening pair of Mumbai.
But, Annabel Sutherland's wicket of Harmanpreet Kaur turned out to be the turning point of the match as she broke the momentum of the Mumbai Indian's batters. Two run outs from Shikha Pandey and another one from Minnu Mani helped them as well.

During their chase, Shafali Verma was at her devastating best with a 18-ball 43 that proved why she can still be the one of the best in the shortest format for India. But, the collapse of the middle order against Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr would worry them a little. However, debutant Niki Prasad showed calm under pressure to stitch 35 from 33 balls.
In the end, though the batting lineup did not look at their best, with captain Meg Lanning controlling them, there is nothing to worry. Moreover, they have a stunning bench strength to utilize as well.
They do not have any injury updates as of now and looks like they will keep the playing XI intact for their clash against RCB.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru

The defending champions of Women's Premier League, RCB started their season on a grand note by making the highest successful chase of WPL history. They stamped their authority by chasing down Gujarat Giants' 202-run target with 9 balls in hands. Richa Ghosh played one of the most devastating knocks of 64 from 27 balls to create history for RCB.
Although their batting lineup did pretty well to pull off a great chase, Smriti Mandhana failed to do well with the bat and her captaincy skill was questioned as well when RCB bowled in the first inning.
Except for Renuka Singh and Kanika Ahuja, every RCB bowler went out of the park against the battling lineup of Gujarat Giants. Renuka with 25/2 from 4 overs was the star of the show for them.
Ellyse Perry with a 57 from 34 balls helped RCB build a platform for players like Richa Ghosh and Kanika Ahuja steal the show. Kanika Ahuja's unbeaten 30 from 13 balls showcased India's untapped talent in the T20 format.
RCB also do not have any news of injury. They might also go unchanged in the DC vs RCB clash.
