Bengal's minister come senior cricketer Manoj Tiwary will lead East Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2022, which is set to be played in Chennai from September 8. The East Zone selection committee selected their team for the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2022 on August 25, Thursday. However, the meeting was held at the premises of JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.

"It was a long and fruitful meeting. I am happy that Manoj will lead the East Zone. He will bring his vast experience to the field. Six other players from Bengal are also in the squad."
Bengal Chief Selector Subhomoy Das, who went to Ranchi to attend the team selection meeting, said
There are overall seven players selected from the Cricket Association of Bengal, four from the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, two players have been named from Assam Cricket Association, and one each from Odisha Cricket Association and Tripura Cricket Association.
Meanwhile, other Bengal players on the East Zone side are senior batsman Anustup Majumdar, all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmad, bowlers Ishan Porel, Akash Deep, keeper-batsman Avishek Porel, and Sudip Gharami. Moreover, Sayan Sekhar Mandal has been named as stand-by.
