GT vs KKR: Rinku Singh hits 5 sixes in an over to help KKR win a thriller of a game in Ahmedabad by 3 wickets

Rinku Singh blasted five sixes off the final five delivery of the 20th over to drive Kolkata Knight Riders to a stunning three-wicket win over Gujarat Titans. Needing 29 to win off the final over, Rinku kept his calm to remain unbeaten on 48 of 21 deliveries as KKR overhauled target of 205 to register the second win of IPL 2023. Sai Sudharsan, Vijay Shankar helped Gujarat putiing up a massive Total

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss & decided to bat first. Shubman Gill & Wriddhiman Saha opened for GT and gave a stable start. Wriddhiman Saha sent the bowlers for few boundaries with Shubman Gill looked in his red hot hot form. Sunil Narine gave the early breakthrough by dismissing Saha for 17 runs. Sai Sudharsan came into the crease & built a fine partnership with Gill. They made a 67 runs partnership but eventually, Gill lost his wicket for 39 runs as Sunil Narine came back with his remaining overs.

Sudharsan showed his form and completed the half-century partnered by Vijay Shankar. It looked like, Shankar has made up his mind already from the dressing room, how to construct the inning. He looked dangerous right from the start with blastering boundaries all over the ground. He completed his half century in just 21 deliveries. Sunil Narine picked up his third wicket by dismissing the set batter Sai Sudharsan for 53 runs and completed the spell. Vijay Shankar smashed 63 runs in 24 deliveries with 4 fours and 5 sixes. Gujarat Titans put up 204 runs after the end of 20 overs.

V. Iyer & Nitish Rana built a brilliant Partnership

KKR had a poor start as Shami & Little dismissed both the openers under 30 runs. Venkatesh Iyer & skipper Nitish Rana took responsibility and built a healthy 100 runs partnership. Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant inning with dominant attire as he played some big shots all around the ground. He hit back to bring up the team's fifty in 6.3 overs. Venkatesh Iyer did well for his 40-ball 83 but couldn't take his team across the finishing line as Joseph dismissed him. Earlier, he dismissed Rana for a brilliant inning of 45 runs.

Rashid Khan took a hattrick to put Gujarat on Top

Rashid Khan picked up a hat-trick to put the game back in GT's favour. He dismissed three big hitters like Andre Russell, Narine & Shardul who could be dangerous for Gujarat. He did the job for his team but Rinku SIngh was the surprise package no one was aware of. Everyone is aware of his big hitting capabilities but securing 28 runs in five deliveries is like superhuman stuff. He saved his best for the final over of the match.

KKR needed 29 runs in the final over. Yash Dayal got the responsibility to bowl the final over and he was calm so was Rinku. Umesh Yadav rotated the side with a single run and Rinku SIngh came on strike. This was his moment, & somehow he just knew it. He smashed five consecutive sixes to win the match for Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets. A dramatical victory over the favourites of the competition will boost their confidence.
