Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 and became the first team to qualify for playoffs, knocking out SRH. Chasing a target of 189 runs, SRH were restricted to 154/9 in 20 overs, despite a knock of 64 runs off 44 balls by Heinrich Klaasen. Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma were in fiery form for GT and scalped four wickets each respectively. Initially, GT reached 188/9 in 20 overs, courtesy of a century by Shubman Gill. The GT opener smacked 101 runs off 58 balls, packed with 13 fours and one six. Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan also played a key knock of 47 runs off 36 balls. including six fours and a six. GT vs SRH: IPL 2023 Match Report
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss & decided to bowl first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Wriddhiman Saha in the first over and gave an early blow to Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill & Sudharsan constructed a partnership from scratch and took Gujarat to a brilliant position. Gill raced through the powerplay, smashing 36 off just 16 balls, including an array of four consecutive boundaries against Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Combining with Sai Sudharsan, who played an anchor role until the halfway mark in the innings, the two stitched a 100-run partnership. En route to it, Gill scored his fourth fifty-plus knock this season, off 22 balls. He also went past the 500-run mark in IPL 2023 for the first time in his career, having scored 440 runs in 2020, 478 runs in 2021, and 483 runs in 2022, and reached the milestone of 1000 runs for Gujarat Titans, the only ever player to do so.
He eventually completed his ton in 56 balls, becoming the sixth player to reach the triple-figure mark in IPL 2023. No other players were able to reach a double figure for them because of Bhuvi's spell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 5 wickets which completely demolished the middle order of Gujarat's lineup. GT put up a total of 188 runs after the end of 20 overs.

GT vs SRH: IPL 2023 Match Report
Losing regular wickets at the other end didn't stop Klaasen from looking for quick runs. In a very poor season for Sunrisers' batters, the South African is the only one to cross the 300-run mark. Against Gujarat, though he started patiently by scoring 23 off his first 18 deliveries. He took the attack against Noor Ahmad, smashing two sixes and a boundary off his bowling to up the inning.
Klaasen tried his best but Gujarat came out as the better side
Klaasen got to his second fifty of the season in 35 balls. The only notable partnership for the visitors was the one for the eighth wicket between Klaasen (64) and Bhuvneshwar (27) as they stitched 68 runs off 47 deliveries. Mohit Sharma & Shami picked up 4 wickets each and dismantled the batting lineup of the opponents.
Bhuvneshwar performed really well during batting after picking up 5 wickets. No other batters stepped up otherwise the result would be different. Klaasen fought like a warrior but it wasn't enough to chase the total. Gujarat finished on high and won the match by 34 runs. This win helped them to become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
