A decision on the availability of Harmanpreet Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar is expected around Thursday afternoon. India is still hoping that the pair can be a match fit for the Women's T20 World Cup semifinal. India's record against Australia is already poor and the illness of two of their key players makes it more challenging for them.

If both of these players cannot play, it will be a massive blow to India's chances of winning against Australia as there are fitness concerns over left-arm spinner Radha Yadav. Smriti Mandhana will captain the team against Australia if Harmanpreet Kaur does not recover for the Women's T20 World Cup semifinal.

If Harmanpreet Kaur will not fit to take the field then Harleen Deol will come in her place. So far this tournament has not been good for the Indian captain. Harmanpreet has scored only 66 runs in 4 matches. However, she is famous for playing her best game in big matches and India will definitely need her against a mighty team like Australia.

On the other hand, Pooja Vastrakar has taken only two wickets in 4 matches so far in this tournament. But she can play a crucial role with the new ball along with Renuka Singh. India has fielded three fast bowlers and three spinners. If Pooja Vastrakar and Radha Yadav are not available, they will also have to change the bowling combination for the Women's T20 World Cup semifinal. Sneh Rana, one of the traveling reserves, can replace Pooja Vastrakar.

Such Indian team management can get Devika Vaidya back in the playing XI. India may also have to include left-arm medium pacer Anjali Sarvani. If the team management wants to strengthen their batting, then they will keep Yastika Bhatia in the playing XI.
