However, his 18-ball fifty soon was bettered by youngster Abhishek Sharma who scored his fifty in just 16 balls to surpass Travis Head's record. Sharma continued his onslaught and went back to the dressing room after his 23-ball 63.

Klassen went on to stay unbeaten on 80 from 34 balls with 7 huge sixes. Meanwhile, Markaram did not disappoint with his 42 from 28 balls.
Debutant Kwena Maphaka went for 66 in his four overs while Hardik Pandya, the new Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya went for 46 runs in his four overs. Gerald Coetzee went for 57 in his four overs. Sunrisers crossed their 250 mark in the 19th over and only if it was not for Jasprit Bumrah's 36 runs in four overs, SRH could have the 280 mark as well. In the end, SRH finished their inning at 277 with 21 runs coming in the last over from Sams Mulani.
