The Men in Blues will face England in the highly-anticipated second Test match of the India vs England 5-match test series on Friday in Visakhapatnam. The Men in Blue will try to bounce back after being butchered by the visitors in the first test.

In the first Test, England batted first and were bowled out for 246. In reply, India put up 436 on the board and it looked like India will easily take the lead in the series by winning the match.

But, in the second innings, England scored 420 runs courtesy of Ollie Pope's 196 runs and then bowled India for only 202, winning the match by 28 runs. Tom Hartley grabbed 7 wickets for England to make it possible.

India will be aiming to make a comeback in the series while England will be hoping to go 2-0 up in the series.

Pitch & Weather Report

The pitch at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium favours batters the most. The venue has hosted only two Test matches, and India has emerged victorious both times. India met England at this venue in 2016 when they dominated and defeated them by 246 runs. In the last Test match hosted at the venue, India emerged victorious by defeating South Africa by 203 runs.

The surface also makes it challenging for the batters to adjust. The spinners have done well at this venue while the pacers need to use variations to get something from the pitch.

According to AccuWeather, hazy sunshine will be on Day 1 of the match. The weather will be favourable for most of the game. The weather forecast says the chances of rain affecting the game are significantly low. There will be a slight chance of rain on the first three days. On the fourth and final day, the chances will reduce to less than five percent.

After losing the first Test to England, the Indian cricket team faced further challenges as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are unavailable for the second Test due to injuries.

The Indian management will have to make a decision to maintain the balance of the playing XI for the second Test in the absence of both of their star players.

The selectors have introduced Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Saurabh Kumar to the squad. It will interesting to see what the management will decide for the second test match.

England

The England and Wales Cricket Board have already announced their playing XI for the India vs England 2nd Test match. ECB stated that there are two changes in the team and Shoaib Bashir will replace Jack Leach who has been ruled out with a knee injury.

Bashir will make his debut in the Visakhapatnam Test, as the visitors continue with a three-men spin attack. Bashir missed the first Test due to visa issues. But, he has reached the 2nd test match venue and will make his debut. Spinner Rehan Ahmed is also in the playing XI and hoping to get more overs than he got in the first match. Meanwhile, veteran James Anderson has replaced pacer Mark Wood in the team.
