All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul are ruled out of the second Test against England starting in Visakhapatnam on February 2. Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury during the India vs England first test match while Rahul complained of right quadriceps pain.
The Selection Committee has added Sarfaraz Khan, left-arm spinner Sourabh Kumar and all-rounder Washington Sundar into the squad for the second Test.
"Mr. Ravindra Jadeja and Mr. KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second IDFC First Bank Test against England in Vizag, starting February 02, 2024," the BCCI said in a media release.

Jadeja and Rahul performed well in the first Test but it was unfortunate that India lost the match. Jadeja picked up three wickets in the first inning and scored 87 runs.
Incidentally, Jadeja was run out by Ben Stokes in the second innings and the left the field hobbling. The doctors examined Jadeja and advised him to rest because he is currently having difficulty walking and is not in optimal health. Rahul scored 86 runs in the first innings and scored 22 in the second one.
The BCCI also said that they have added Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar to the squad for the second Test, which begins on February 2.
