Team News:
India:
Shikhar Dhawan-led India failed to hold their nerves in the first encounter as they suffered a defeat in a close game on Thursday. The game was held in 40 overs per side with rain affecting the play before. India restricted the visitors to 249 in respective 40 overs. Except for Thakur, every bowler was punished by the Protea's batting unit. Thakur took two wickets while Bishnoi and Kuldeep took one each.
However, India then failed to chase down 250 as Sanju Samson's unbeaten inning of 86 went in vain. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer also smashed a fifty. Now, Dhawan and his men will be looking to take a bold step forward to level the series here at JSCA Stadium, Ranchi.

Bavuma and his men started off pretty well as they clinched a win in the first game. Keeper batsman Henrich Klassen(74) and David Miller(75) powered the Protea's batting to put up a fighting total which eventually India failed to chase down. The bowlers have also performed decently as they restricted India to 240.
Ngidi took three wickets, Rabada took two and the rest three bowlers took one each. The visitors will be now eyeing to keep their momentum going in the next two games to register a series victory against India in India.
