Men's ODI World Cup 2023

India will be hosting ICC Men's Cricket World Cup solely for the first time in history. previously India has co-hosted three editions (1987, 1996, 2011) with its Asian neighbors. At first, the tournament was decided to be played from 9 February to 26 March 2023. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was postponed to an October–November window.

Women's ODI World Cup 2025

The Women's ODI World Cup 2025 will also be held in India. BCCI was successful in its bid at the ICC annual meeting which concluded on Tuesday in Birmingham. India last hosted the women's world cup in 2013.

"We were keen on hosting the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 and we are glad we have won the hosting rights for this marquee clash on the women's calendar," said BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in an ICC media release. "The sport has undergone tremendous transformation since then. The popularity of women's cricket is rapidly rising, and this is a step in the right direction. The BCCI will work closely with the ICC and fulfill all the requirements," he added.

Moreover, it was decided in the meeting that the election to decide the new chairman of ICC will be held in November this year. Apart from this, former Indian batsman and current head of the National Cricket Academy VVS Laxman has been inducted into the ICC Men's Cricket Committee. Also, the new associate members of ICC are Cambodia, Ivory Coast, and Uzbekistan. The ICC has approved the Future Tour Programme (FTP) for men and women from 2023 to 2027. India will play 38 Tests during this time.

"We are taking several steps to raise the profile of the sport right from the grassroots level and hosting the World Cup will further boost the popularity of the sport in the country. The BCCI remains committed to women's cricket in India. We have the infrastructure in place, and I am confident we will have a very successful edition of the World Cup,"

Apart from this, the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh. In addition, England got the responsibility of hosting the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup. The 2027 Women's T20 Champions Trophy, which is being launched for the first time, will be held in Sri Lanka.
