Arch-rivals "The Women in Blue" played against "the Women in Green" in the 4th match of Group Stage in the ICC T20 Women's World Cup at Newlands Cricket Ground. India missed the presence of their vice-captain Smriti Mandhana in their first game of the tournament. They struggled clearly as they weren't stable for the run chase. Jemimah Rodrigues & Richa Ghosh fought till the very end and clinched the victory in the India Women vs Pakistan Women Group stage match.

Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof won the toss & elected to bat first. Pakistan's openers weren't able to give their team a good start as Deepti Sharma & Radha Yadav gave India the early breakthrough. Skipper Bismah Maroof (68*) & Ayesha Naseem (43*) carried the team on their back and helped to put up a challenging total of 149 runs. Radha Yadav took 2 crucial wickets to restrict them in that score.
Coming down to bat, India started with a good flow according to the required run rate. Shafali Verma (33) & Jemimah Rodrigues (53*) helped the team to a great start. Nashra Sandhu bowled 4 cruel overs as she didn't give the opportunity, to sum up the total too much. She also picked two crucial wickets including the opposition skipper. Richa Ghosh the savior, saved the Indian side once again with a brilliant cameo of 31 runs in just 20 deliveries. India won the match by 7 wickets and starts the campaign with some fireworks.
