Rishabh Pant showed great courage coming back to bat, scoring his 12th half century on Day 4 at Bengaluru in the first test against New Zealand. He missed his well-deserved century and got bowled by William O'Rourke at 99 runs. He scored those runs off 105 balls at a strike rate above 90 when his team was struggling. Sarfaraz Khan, on the other side, scored his maiden yet a speedy century, comfortably handling the situation of the match. He too left the field glorious 150-run innings.
Earlier, the Indian Team management clarified Virat Kohli coming at number 3 to let Sarafaraz bat at his regular position in first-class cricket.

Rishabh Pant injury
Rishabh Pant was seen leaving the field on Day 2 after trying to keep one of the spinners. The ball hit that place, where he had multiple injuries due to the accident. Dhruv Jurel took the field as a substitute for Pant since he left.
