Chennai Super Kings became the first team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2021. Moreover, they remain at the top of the IPL 2021 points table with 18 points in 11 matches. After MS Dhoni finishes off in style with a big six against SRH last night. On the other hand, Sunrisers became the first team to eliminate from the playoffs race.

Toss Update from Sharjah :

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, MS makes a change in his team. DJ Bravo makes a comeback in the playing xi of CSK replacing Sam Curran. On the other side, SRH remains unchanged as they won their last encounter against the Royals.

First innings failiure from Hyderabad :

SRH openers Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha came to open the innings for Sunrisers. But, soon Jason Roy(2), who was in the form dismissed by Hazlewood in the 4th over of SRH's innings. Skipper Kane Williamson(11) came to join Saha but fails as Bravo got him in front of the wickets. Although, Saha was holding the wickets on one side, on the other side the batsmen were failed to hold on with him. As Priyam Garg gone for just 7 runs in the 11th over.

When Wriddhiman Saha(44) got out SRH scored only 74 runs and struggling to get going as the pitch was becoming slower. After Saha young talented batsman duo Abdul Samad and Abhishekh Sharma took the responsibility. But, soon both of them got out in the 17th over of Josh Hazlewood. In form, Jason Holder also fails for just 5 runs in the 19th over.

However, Sunrisers Hyderabad finishes on a below-average score of 134-7 in 20 overs. As Saha was a lone warrior who scored 44 runs. In the bowling department, Hazlewood was the star with his best figures in IPL (4-0-24-3). Bravo balls brilliantly as he took two crucial wickets and 1 for each Jadeja and Thakur.

In form batsman duo of CSK, Faf Du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad came to open the innings. As they started hitting Hyderabad bowlers out of the park in the powerplay(1-6) overs. The opening partnership again crosses the 50+ run mark. However, SRH's in-form all-rounder Jason Holder gives the first breakthrough for SRH. As he dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad in 45 runs in the 11th over of CSK's innings.

After that Moeen Ali came & join Faf in the run chase. But soon Ali got bowled by Rashid Khan as CSK were on 103-2 in 14.4 overs. The trouble begins when Suresh Raina(2) and Faf Du Plessis(41) are gone in the very next over of Jason Holder. CSK slips from 103-1 to 108-4. However, Rayudu and MS Dhoni came to the run chase. As the required run rate was going up as the two batsmen have just arrived in the crease.

Moreover, 15 runs were needed in the last two overs to qualify for the playoffs. Bhuvi came in the 19th over to defend the runs for Kaul in the last over. But, Rayudu has other plans as he smashes a huge six in the 2nd delivery of the over. Also, MS Dhoni joins the party in the next ball with a boundary to the leg side. Just 3 runs were needed to make it to the playoffs for CSK. As Dhoni smashes Kaul for a big six to end SRH's hope for the playoffs.

CSK finishes on 139-4 in 19.4 overs. Although, Rayudu remains not out on 17 and Dhoni on 14. CSK became the first team to qualify for the playoffs of this season. On the other side, Kane Williamson's SRH became the first team to get eliminated from the playoffs race. However, Jason Holder took 3 wickets but his efforts went in vain.

IPL 2021 Points Table :

With a crushing win against Sunrisers Hyderabad, CSK confirmed their qualification for the playoffs. However, with 18 points in 11 matches, they have already qualified for the playoffs with 3 matches remaining to play. Although, with this loss, Sunrisers Hyderabad is officially got eliminated from the playoffs race. However, let's take a look at the IPL 2021 points table after the match between CSK and SRH.
