The players eligible should have featured in five or fewer Test matches or 20 or fewer ODIs and should have been a part of 25 or fewer IPL matches. The notable players receiving this award are Rohit Sharma, Axar Patel, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill over the years. The likes of Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad won this award in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The only overseas player to win this award was Bangladesh pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, in 2016.

The "Finisher" of the Lucknow Super Giants, Ayush Badoni is undoubtedly one of the most impressive youngsters this season. He scored a gutsy fifty on his IPL debut, even when his team was in trouble. Ayush Badoni has been phenomenal in a few of his appearances in IPL. Badoni aggregated 134 runs in 7 innings at an average of 26.8 and a strike rate of 139.58. Ayush Badoni has also picked up a wicket in his newly started IPL career.

The Delhi boy had amazing days for Indian U-19 too. He performed with both bat and ball against the Sri Lanka U-19 in youth Tests in 2018. Badoni was a member of the champion Indian side in the 2018 ACC U-19 Asia Cup. He is surely going to be one of the future superstars.

A promising southpaw from Hyderabad, Tilak Varma has had impressive outings so far in the IPL. He had big shoes to fill in MI's batting line-up in the absence of the likes of Hardik Pandya, but he has done a fine job. He has shown everyone that he can make quickfire runs and can also give stability after falling off early wickets.

Tilak Varma has aggregated 272 runs in 8 innings at an average of 45.33 and maintained a strike rate of 140.21. Varma has registered his highest score in IPL against Rajasthan Royals in the very first week of this season.

Tilak Varma

His knock of 61 off 33 balls against Rajasthan Royals is enough to understand what a player he is. MI had huge expectations while bidding for him at the auction. Varma made his T20 debut for Hyderabad in the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The 19-year-old was a part of the Indian side for the 2020 U-19 World Cup. MI has been a franchise that has groomed many young players into match-winners.

Dewald Brevis aka "Baby AB" has lit up the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season and he has given some impressive performances. In the game against Punjab Kings, Brevis scored a quickfire 49 and he even smashed Rahul Chahar for four consecutive sixes. Then, against Lucknow Super Giants, he smashed 31 off 13 deliveries, and till the time he was at the crease, one could not take their eyes off him.

The young Proteas batter had earlier set the stage on fire at the ICC U-19 World Cup as he amassed 506 runs. The batter has now revealed the two players he has always idolized. Brevis has acquired 124 runs in 6 innings at an average of 20.67 and also maintained a good strike rate of 155. Baby AB has registered his personal best score of 49 runs against Punjab Kings.
