IPL 2023 is believed to be the last season of world-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoniโ€™s career. There is speculation that he will retire after playing IPL 2023, but Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma does not agree with this. He believes that MS Dhoni still has a few seasons left in him.

In the press conference just before the start of IPL 2023 on Wednesday, Rohit Sharma said, โ€œI donโ€™t know if this is his last season, Iโ€™ve been hearing for the last 2-3 years that this is going to be MS Dhoniโ€™s last season. I think he is fit enough to play a few more seasons.โ€

It was clearly visible in the pictures that Dhoniโ€™s biceps were looking big and he was playing power shots in his style. Even former England captain Kevin Pietersen has praised Dhoni. On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is sitting silently as usual. Only he knows when to retire or how long to play. Dhoni, who said goodbye to international cricket in 2020, is very fit even at the age of 41 and there is no shortage of running in the middle of the field.

Dhoni is still a key member of the Chennai franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has contributed significantly to the teamโ€™s success over the years. Since the tournamentโ€™s inception in 2008, he has scored 4978 runs in 234 games and led his team to four IPL titles. IPL 2023 could be MS Dhoniโ€™s final season as an Indian Premier League player. The legendary captain hinted last season that he wanted to say goodbye to the fans by traveling across the country for the 2023 edition of the tournament. Last season, Chennai attempted to hand over the captaincy to begin their transition from Dhoni. But they failed miserably in the middle of the tournament.

Former Australian cricketer and CSK opener Shane Watson also expressed his opinion on Dhoniโ€™s IPL retirement, โ€œI heard that this is the last IPL of MS Dhoni but I donโ€™t think. MS Dhoni can continue to play for the next three to four years. Dhoniโ€™s leadership is something that is as good as his game. His fitness and mind-reading of the game make him a good leader. His skills on the ground are awesome. He is one of the main reasons that CSK is successful.โ€

Under Dhoniโ€™s captaincy, the team has been champion 4 times and is second in terms of winning the most titles. Rohit Sharmaโ€™s Mumbai Indians is at number one. Mumbai has won the title 5 times under the captaincy of Rohit. If Dhoni wins the title this time, then Chennai Super Kings will match Rohitโ€™s team.
