As per reports, the KKR vs RR match scheduled for 17th April at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata would be preponed to 16th April due to Ram Navami. Though there were reports of the match getting relocated, the match will be played at Eden Gardens.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have played two games so far in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and have shown dominance to win both games against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the occasion of Ram Navami, the Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Rama, they were supposed to face Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals.
However, since yesterday there were reports that due to security, traffic and other reasons, the 7th match of the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Rajasthan Royals team would be rescheduled or relocated from Kolkata.
KKR vs RR is likely to be played on 16th April at Eden Gardens
But, as per the sources of Sportz Point, the match is now likely to be pre-poned to 16th April, one day earlier than the actual schedule. Moreover, the match will not be relocated from Kolkata as well. Avishek Dalmiya, a member of the IPL governing council, who is from Kolkata trying not to shift the match away from Kolkata, thinking about the cricket-loving fans of Kolkata.
Eden Gardens as a venue has been winning the best ground award in Indian Premier League awards and has always been a fan's favourite and players too look to play in front of the electrifying crowd at Eden.
Although there has been no official announcement till now, Sportz Point's sources can confirm that the KKR vs RR match is likely to be played on Tuesday, 16th April 2024 and most likely to be played at the Eden Gardens as well.
Before that match, KKR will be playing against Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings in their away fixture on 3rd and 8th April respectively. Then, they will face Lucknow Super Giants at home on 14th April before facing Rajasthan Royals at the same venue.
