Finally, SRH backs in the winning ways as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets and RR slips down to the 6th position of IPL points table 2021

After a thumping win against Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad is back in winning ways. Also, RR slips down to the 6th position of the IPL points table 2021. With the 7 wicket win over RR, SRH now again starts their race to make a place in the playoffs. Jason Roy, who makes his debut for SRH the last evening is the top scorer for SRH last night. He scored 60 runs in 42 deliveries with the help of 8 fours and a six. Moreover, he adjusted the man of the match award for the game against RR. Also, skipper Kane Williamson scored a match-winning inning of 51* runs to finish it for SRH.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first. As for RR Chris Morris and Evin Lewis comes back in the place of Kartik Tyagi and Miller. On the other hand, for SRH Jason Roy makes his debut in the place of Warner. Also, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma makes a comeback to the playing xi removing Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav. Sidharth Kaul got a place in the playing xi in the place of injured Khaleel Ahmed.

Although, Evin Lewis fails to deliver again as he gets caught by Abdul Samad in the very first ball of Bhubhanmeswar Kumar. But, the other opener Yashaswi Jaiswal started clean hitting all out of the park. With skipper Sanju Samson comes at no 3, both of them took the charge of each bowler of SRH. However, it was Sandeep Sharma who bowled out Jaiswal in the 9th over. Jaiswal scored valuable 36 runs in just 23 deliveries with the help of 5 fours and a six.

England batting all-rounder Liam Livingstone got out just after Jaiswal. Rashid Khan takes his wicket on just 8 runs. After that Sanju Samson carried his team with the help of Mahipal Lomror. Samson played a brilliant inning of 82 runs before he got out on the last over of Kaul. However, Lomror remains on 29* in 28 balls after the end of RR innings.

SRH bowler Kaul picks two wickets in the final over of the innings. Also, Sandeep Sharma, Rashid Khan, and Bhuveneswar got 1 wicket each. However, the Royals scored a good total of 164-5 in 20 overs.

As David Warner was not playing, Jason Roy gets the charge on the RR bowlers from the start of their innings. Roy smashes back-to-back boundaries in the powerplay overs. Moreover, Wrisshiman Saha also hitting well as he hits two fours and a six. But, in the last over of the powerplay, Saha got out on 18 runs as he got stumped by skipper Samson.

After that, SRH skipper Kane Williamson came and started to dig out the deliveries all along the ground. Meanwhile, Jason Roy completes his half-century in the over of Rahul Tewatia, which brings 21 runs to SRH innings. However, Jason Roy scored 60 runs in 42 deliveries, before he got out on the 12th over of SRH's inning. Priyam Garg came in Roy's place but he can't match his level on the day. As he got out caught and bowled by Mustafizur in his very first delivery.

Abhishek Sharma came after Garg was get caught and Abhishek shares a brilliant partnership with his captain Kane Williamson. However, soon SRH comes closer to their target of 165 runs as Kane Williamson finishes with two back-to-back boundaries in the 19th over of Mustafizur. Williamson also completes his half-century by hitting the winning runs for SRH. SRH won the match by 7 wickets margin and stays in the playoffs race.

The Points Table:

SRH won their first game in the second leg of IPL 2021 and they stay in the race of the playoffs. However, there is not that much change in the points table after the match of SRH and RR. But, in terms of net run rate(NRR), there is a change that RR loses their 5th position and slipped down to 6th after the loss against SRH. However, SRH remains in the 8th position with 4 points in 10 matches. Let's take a better look at the points table of IPL 2021.

His total wicket tally is over 120, and 31 of them have come in the first over.

Boult played his first IPL match on April 11, 2015, against Chennai Super Kings. So far, he has taken 126 wickets in 110 matches in the league at an average of 27.14 and an economy rate of 8.35. His best performance during this period has been taking 4 wickets while giving 18 runs. His IPL win for Mumbai Indians in 2020 and his 'Player of the Match' award in the final are testament to his achievements.

2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar | 27 Wickets

Bhuvneshwar's total wickets in his IPL career are 187, the most among Indian pacers. Of these, 27 came in the first over. He won the Purple Cap in two consecutive seasons in 2016 and 2017, which is a testament to his consistency. His swing and accuracy make him a nightmare for batsmen in the first over.

3. Praveen Kumar | 15 Wickets

The right-arm seamer Praveen Kumar has the third most wickets in 1st over of IPL. He has had a 10-year-long IPL career, in which he has taken 15 wickets in the first over to his name and has deceived the batters with his immaculate control. 

Praveen has played 119 matches and picked 90 wickets at an average of 36.12. Kumar famously picked up a hat trick in the 2010 edition of the tournament against Rajasthan Royals and became the sixth player in the history of the tournament to achieve the feat.

4. Deepak Chahar | 14 Wickets

5. Sandeep Sharma | 13 Wickets

The pacer has picked up 142 wickets in 133 IPL outings at an average of 27.49. The former Sunrisers Hyderabad player’s best bowling figure in IPL came against Delhi Capitals in 2017, where he picked up four wickets, whilst conceding just 20 runs in four overs.
